I had the incredible opportunity to go behind the scenes at Australia Zoo and witness firsthand the extraordinary effort the Irwin family and their dedicated team put in—not only to deliver a world-class tourism experience but also to champion animal conservation and welfare.

The absolute highlight of the visit was touring the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. The compassion and dedication of the team, working around the clock alongside an army of wildlife volunteers, was truly inspiring. I was amazed to learn that the hospital can spend up to $15,000 on a single koala to nurse it back to health.

The outstanding facilities and services available today are a direct result of the Irwin family’s tireless efforts to raise awareness and take action on these critical issues—both locally and globally. I was deeply impressed by their ongoing commitment and future plans for the zoo.
